Harold Dee Jennings

Posted

Harold Dee Jennings went to be with the Lord, January 3, 2020 after a long and courageous battle with esophageal cancer.
Harold was born on July 11, 1941 in Bell, California.  He attended Downey High School where he was involved in football, wrestling and was the class president.  He made many lifelong friends who brought great memories and incredible joy to his life.  He attended Fullerton Junior College where he continued to play football.  In 1965, he met and married his wife of 52 years, Nancy.  He co-owned Empire Campers in Anaheim until 1973 when the family moved to Scott Valley, California to operate a cattle and hay ranch.  Harold loved ranch life and soon became involved in the community as a high school football coach and served on the school board.  He enjoyed snow and water skiing, camping and sharing jokes with the amazing friends he and Nancy made in the valley.
In 1991, he and Nancy moved to the Lake Chelan Valley where they bought C-Bay Hardware in Manson, Washington.  He loved visiting with everyone and talking with the orchardists, many of whom became wonderful friends.
Harold suffered many health problems over the years.  Multiple heart attacks, lung removal and esophageal cancer.  Through it all, he remained jovial and always had a joke to share until the very end.  He will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy, his daughters, Jamie Palazzo, Jeanna Smith and Heather Winters. His six grandchildren, Marisa and Mereck Palazzo and Ellie, Abigail, Olivia and Finnegan Smith.  His sisters, Karen Erdmann and Kathy Ford and his brother Wes Mitchell.
Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date in Downey, Calif.
