Karen Louise Halliday Gordon, age 71, died April 23, 2021 in Chelan, Washington of lung cancer.
Karen was born April 30, 1949 in Tacoma, Washington, the youngest child of Horace and Gayle Halliday. Most of her growing up years were spent in the Summit View area, south of Tacoma. She attended Collins Grade School then Franklin Pierce High School where she graduated in 1967.
Karen was a career girl, working for State of Washington Social Services first for a short time then was hired as a legal secretary and worked for several different large attorney firms in Nevada, Seattle and Tacoma. Her career spanned 35 years.
She married David Hill in 1967 in Tacoma, Washington. They divorced in 1976.
She met and married Bobby Gene Gordon in 1986 in Carson City, Nevada. Shortly thereafter, they moved back to Tacoma to a home near the homestead where Karen grew up.  Bobby was the love of her life and they made many fine memories together. Bobby died in 2011.
Karen was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints involving herself in music of the church every chance she had. She loved to sing and was blessed with a beautiful voice. She sang for weddings, funerals and special programs as a soloist. When young, she and her sister Kathleen, sang duets at church. She was a member of the Franklin Pierce Silvertones, a select group of singers from the high school choir. Music was her life, her therapy, her passion.
Throughout her life, she gained many friends. She was friendly, compassionate, caring, funny and loved to talk. She was loved by all who knew her. She will be missed by both family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her sister Barbara, husband Bobby and her sister-in-law Marilyn.
She is survived by her brother, Dave Halliday, her sister, Kathleen Shutt, five nieces Barbra, Lisa, Leah, Jennifer and Laurie. Three nephews Darren, Kevin and Kyle, and 31 grandnieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held in Chelan, Washington at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 195 Hwy 150, on Thursday, May 6 at 11:30 a.m.
Graveside Service will be held Friday, May 7 at 1 p.m. at New Tacoma Cemetery, 9221 Chambers Creek Rd. W., University Place, Washington.
