Liv Ann Garfoot Nuckols

A bright  light has disappeared on this earth.
Liv Ann Garfoot Nuckols passed away suddenly early Wednesday morning, September 7, 2022, at her home in Minnesota.
Liv was born April 23, 1978, in Seattle and raised in the tiny mountain community of Stehekin, Washington.
She graduated  from high school in Manson, Washington, spending her summers and holidays in Stehekin.
She attended Central Washington University and graduated with a business degree from William and Mary University in Williamsburg, Virginia and a Master Degree in Health-care from Strayer University.
Liv worked as a horseback guide in Stehekin during her high school and college summers, enjoying the freedom and fun of living  in a remote area. She was a huge lover of all animals but especially felt a connection to dogs and horses.
Over the past 20 years Liv has worked in the healthcare industry. She held an executive position with United Health in Minneapolis until the time of her passing. It’s beyond words to express the love  and respect her healthcare family held her in. She will be dearly missed.
Liv will be remembered for many things, her humor, her  joyful infectious laugh, her intelligence, loyalty and sense of compassion and fairness  among them. Most of all she will be remembered for her fearless warrior spirit that shone brightly in the defense of truth, and for the abused.
Her dream was  to eventually own and operate a woman’s  shelter.
Liv was preceded in death by her father, Papa Phillip Garfoot.
She is survived by her husband, Howard Nuckols of Williamsburg, Virginia, stepdaughter Allyssa Nuckols of Richmond, Virginia, her mother, Wendy Garfoot of Stehekin, Washington, brother, Brun (Mindy) Garfoot of Manson, Washington; nieces, Leanna, Josie, Makayla Garfoot, nephew, Ian Garfoot all of Manson, Washington, her dear friend Dale Berryman of Richmond, Virginia and her beloved United Healthcare team and extended United Health care family.
The family asks that any donation in Liv’s memory go to healing heartsrescue.org
