Nathanial J. Emery Hart

Posted

In loving memory of

Nathanial J Emery Hart.
Nathanial J. Emery Hart of Pateros, Washington left us way too soon at the age of 16.
Nate showed heart when it mattered, not to those who wanted it, but to those who needed it. Nate was a stone that all could look to for comfort and a positive presence to keep the spirits high even if all that he said was sprinkled with sarcasm.
As said by his cousin JC, he was a very resilient kid growing up, whether it was battling his way through school and sports or at home getting roughed up by his older sisters and cousins, he always got right back up to tussle. Loved more than he was capable of understanding, he may be gone but will never be forgotten.
Nathan, Nate or Monkey is what everyone knew him by. Nate was born February 1, 2005 in Chelan, Washington. He attended Chelan Elementary School from preschool until 2nd grade. At the age of 8, Nate and his family moved to Pateros, where he attended the Pateros School District from 3rd through the 10th grade.
Nate was very athletic. He had a love for wrestling, football and baseball. Nate was part of the Chelan Youth Wrestling team starting in the first grade, while also being a part of the Pateros Youth Wrestling team. He wrestled 7th grade with Chelan Middle School, then in 9th grade he wrestled for the Pateros High School team, weight class 132, and placed 3rd in Districts, 3rd in Regionals and making it all the way to state. He was the only one to represent Pateros High School at State with JC helping coach him.
Nate was not an average kid. At the age of four he was learning and helping scrap metal with his papa and Uncle Mel, with cowboy boots on the wrong feet and all the fake tattoos. By the age of six his dad was teaching him how to track, hunt and preserve animals. By the age of 12 he got his first buck.
Nate had a love for the outdoors including hunting, camping, fishing, shed hunting and hiking.
He had just helped his best friend Zac rebuild a Jeep Comanche.
Nate grew up being a tough little man. He had no choice being the youngest of 10 siblings/ cousins.
He had a very big heart, was very caring, loving and always willing to help a friend or loved one and always wanting to be a part of what his two older sisters were doing.
Nate’s biggest fans and cheerleaders were his Mama, Aunt Donnitia and Pop. He spent a lot of time with his old Grams who could always cook his food the right way. She would always make him his favorite, her secret recipe, Porcupine Meatballs and toast.
He was his mama’s baby and loved to cook and bake with her, go on camping trips, just the two of them and he was her number one hunting partner.
Nate is loved deeply and survived by his parents Ed and Carrie Melton; grandparents Don and Nancy Hart and Joyce Painter; siblings Dakota (Zac) Buchmann, one niece, his mini me, Hayden, Kiera Austin (Jeremy Piechalski), Chase (Kelsey) Melton, Taran (Alyssa)) Melton, Grayson Riddell, JC Austin, Ariel Austin; aunts and uncles, Mel Hart (Jackey New), Donnitia Hart, Randy (Randalynn) Hovland, Lucas Spurgeon, Jesse McClellan, Sarah Molina, Cheryl Williams, Bea (Jerry) James, Rebecca (Steve) Waller, Chet Baer, Marie (Mike) Love, June (Doug) Stanaway, Ann (Roger) Ooms, Philip (Sukyong) Melton; cousins, The Twins, Haley and Zoe McClellan, who loved to follow him around, Krista and Izzy New.
