4th Quarter Road Biking Group Participates in the 2021 Chelan Century Challenge

Members of the 4th Quarter Road Biking Group rode Loop 3 of the 2021 Chelan Century Challenge on September 18. Left to right are: Mia Mickelson, Scott McDonald, Laura Halter, Karen Stoelk, and Bob Matson. The riders rode 29.3 miles with a total elevation gain of 1,945 ft.
The course started at Chelan High School and proceeded south on Highway 97A along the south shore up Knapps Hill then back down to the river through the tunnel.  At the river the riders headed north on Navarre Coulee Road back to the south shore at the State Park.  From the State Park the riders rode back to Chelan High School along the south shore and Highway 97A.
The 4th Quarter Road Biking Group rides in Manson and Chelan on Mondays and Fridays from April through October.  For more information contact Bob Matson at 509-888-1554.
In other business, commissioners:
• Heard the results of a juvenile salmon survival study at Rock Island Dam. In spring 2021, yearling Chinook passed Rock Island project area with a 94.45% survival rate. The study is required every 10 years by the Habitat Conservation Plan for Rock Island. (02:24:17)
