Apple Cup Golf Tournament sponsored by the Apple Cup Cafe

CHELAN - The Apple Cup Open Golf Tournament took place July 20 and 21 at the Lake Chelan Golf Course and it was a huge success.
Lake Chelan Men's Golf Club Members (Assisted by many Senior Men's Golf Club Members) hosted the tournament which kicked off on Friday with a practice round that included a Honey Pot and Skins Game.
On Saturday, the teams competed with a Two Man Team Best Ball format, there were Closest to the Pin Competitions on all the Par 3 Holes, there was a Honey Pot Game, a Complimentary Lunch was served, Team Prizes were awarded, a Calcutta Auction of the teams took place, and a Horse Race Competition concluded the day that paid prize money to the top four teams.
On Sunday, the teams competed on a Combined Score Basis and prizes were awarded by Division for Low Gross and Low Net for several places, there was a Honey Pot Game, there were Closest to the Pin Competitions on all the Par 3 Holes, there was a 50/50 Cash Raffle, there was a Fundraising Auction of donated items, and there was a prize raffle.
And, all weekend there was a Special Hole-in-One Prize Award Game that would have paid any golfer scoring a hole-in-one several hundred dollars in cash.
Matt Froman, president; John Hancock, vice-president, and Stefan Dobratz, the 2019 Men's Golf Club Officers did an incredible job planning, organizing and running the tournament. 
John Hancock, Mike Storey, Eric Lorenz and Ed Ferguson the 2019 Tournament Committee Members solicited a large number of high-quality Auction and Raffle Items, along with Cash Sponsorships from vendors.  Senior Men’s Club Members Dr. Darrell Richards, Bob Matson and Ray Wilson also solicited items in support of the tournament.
Scott Patrick was marvelous again this year selling raffle tickets.  Scott's goal each tournament is to sell enough tickets to fund the Club's Two Annual $1,000 Student Scholarships. 
Jim Oscarson, PGA Professional and Mark Lawrence, Assistant PGA Professional (And, other Lake Chelan Golf Course staff members) kept the tournament moving and they assisted with the Calcutta Auction, Gift Auction, Score Tracking and Charts, and Horse Race competition execution.
Senior Men's Club Volunteers, Dan Dedo, Ellis Nierenberg, Dr. Darrell Richards, Tony Montoya and Bob Matson helped check-in the golfers on Saturday morning.
Dave Spanjer, the Scholarship Committee Chair arranged for the 2019 Men's Golf Club Student Scholarship Winner, Andrea Villa Garcia to sell raffle tickets to golfers on Sunday at the tournament.  Andrea did a wonderful job selling tickets and being a great ambassador for the Men's Golf Club.
The Men's and Senior Men's Club Members that played in the tournament included Mike Talley, Mike Haerling (and brother), Matt (Pres) Froman, Nick Froman, John (Mr. VP) Hancock, Stefan Dobratz, Dave Spanjer, Greg Moser, Roger Moser, Tony Montoya, Ellis Nierenberg, Bob Matson, Dr. Darrell Richards, Dan Dedo, Bill Rittenhouse, Ed Ferguson, Phil Sifferman, Scott Patrick, Mike Storey, Pat Carboneau, Cliff House, Chuck Mallow, Eric Lorenz, Randy Cowin, Jim Oscarson, and Mark Roberts.
