Lake Chelan Ladies Golf - Tee time - May 30

CHELAN - The course is heating up in temperatures and competitions. Twenty four players turned out. Besides our usual weekly competition, it was the final round of our club’s Apple Blossom tournament. The final playoff was between Susie Clausen and Jaclyn Starr Evans. Susie won on hole 16 in match play using handicaps.

Susie won with a net score of 69 and Jaclyn was the runner up with a net score of 74.  Making this even more interesting is the fact that they both joined the ladies club in 1999 so this is their 20th anniversary season.

Congratulations to Susie Clausen our Apple Blossom Tournament champion and to Jaclyn Star Evans the runner up.
Meanwhile, back at the weekly competition, we played “3 Blind Mice”, where the pro shop draws three holes after we tee off. Those three holes are subtracted from our gross score then our full handicap is subtracted.

This week’s winners were:
Division 1:  First place, Janet Foyle, 54. Second place, Gail Peterson, 55.
Division 2:  First place: Nancy Judson, 50. Second Place: Karen Holst, 52. Third Place: Susie Clausen, 53.
Division 3: First place: Bernie Rainer, 55. Second Place: Nancy Parker, 56.

A lone birdie was made by Jan Artim on hole 9. There were chip-ins galore today by Jo Higgins on hole 5, Judy Johanson on hole 12, Sherry Ochsner on hole 10 and two chip-ins by Janet Kophs on holes 2 and 9.
