CHELAN - Pandemic golfing poses many challenges. Especially when you want to hold your usual and customary tournament where each member invites a guest to play a fun day of golf. Inviting people from out of town suddenly seems counterintuitive to striving for social distancing. We decided to go with a Member/Member Golf Tournament. Twenty-four members teamed up with partners for a fun day of golf. The competition was two member teams for gross and net using combined handicaps.
First Division:
First Place, Low Gross, Jan Artim and Candace Farnsworth, 84.
First Place, Low Net, Linda Reister and Linda Hahn, 64.
Second Place, Low Net, Carol Ferguson and Cindi Smith, 70.
Second Division:
First Place, Low Gross, Janet Foyle and Jacklyn Starr-Evans, 90.
First Place, Low Net, Susie Clausen and Karen Erickson, 59.
Second Place, Low Net, Sherry Ochsner and Sherry Fisk, 64.
Third Division:
First Place, Low Gross, Karen Holst and Judy Johanson, 96
First Place, Low Net, Nancy Parker and Pam Zent, 64.
Second Place, Low Net, Susie Martin and Jane Storms, 71.
Our lunch was delicious fare provided by CJ’s on the Course. Then we celebrated Janet Foyle’s birthday with cake. Janet has been a long-time member of the club and still packs a wallop with those clubs. Many of us want to be her when we grow up.
This week’s competition (July 30) will be Even and Odd where we count even numbered holes on the front nine and odd numbered holes on the back nine less 1/2 your handicap. The tee time is 8 a.m. so please check in by 7:30 a.m.
