Fatal collision just north of Chelan

CHELAN - At 5:35 a.m. this morning, the Washington State Patrol arrived at the scene of a two car fatal collition on N Highway 97, just five miles north of Chelan. 

Charles Sablan, 60 was driving a 2000 Subaru Legacy Stationwagon northbound on SR97 when he struck a deer in the roadway and then entered the southbound lane, continuing onto the southbound shoulder. 

A 2003 Dodge Neon, driven by Edy Bahena, 24 was heading southbound on SR97 when he collided with Sablan. 

Sablan was pronounecd dead at the scene while Bahena was transported to the Lake Chelan Community Hospital by ambulance. Both were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the accident.
