Chelan Valley Habitat for Humanity to have ribbon cutting Wednesday, April 24 for newly completed Annex

Posted

CHELAN - ReStore, the familiar thrift store on Woodin Avenue operated by Chelan Valley Habitat for Humanity, has just completed a major project enhancement and expansion.

A roof extension and side panels from the back of the store to the alley has more than doubled the protected area where donations are received and weather-resistant items can be showcased for sale.

Habitat will celebrate the completion of the store’s donation receiving and showcase “Annex”, with a ribbon cutting ceremony conducted by the Lake Chelan Chamber of Commerce at Noon on Wednesday, April 24. The community is invited to the ceremony and to tour the expanded facility throughout the day.

To commemorate the event, Habitat is holding a one-day storewide sale all day Wednesday with every item in the store offered at a 30% discount.

ReStore is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sellable donations are accepted at the alley receiving area on days of operation from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Some large, specialty items can be arranged in advance for pick up.

The Store is a fund-raising mechanism to support the building of Habitat Homes in the Lake Chelan Valley. Currently, Habitat is building a duplex on E. Wapato Avenue, that will serve as the 18th and 19th family home completed by the organization.
