P.E.O. Sisterhood helps with women with grants, awards, to help finance their education

Posted

CHELAN - Jo Miller, president of the Chelan Chapter of P.E.O.,  met with  Ryan and  Erin  Petersen, owners of the Apple Cup Café to thank them for their help recently.

Through the generosity of Ryan and Erin Petersen,  members have been able to gather in the “back room” during the recent pandemic as their guests. Being “near normal” has been greatly appreciated by members from Chelan and Okanogan Counties.

Women of this area, currently enrolled in college or trade school, are the focus of P.E.O.  a group who extends financial help; perhaps their path to a degree has been interrupted by marriage, family, etc.

P.E.O. can help with grants, awards, loans and even a full midwestern four-year Cottey College is available.

The P.E.O. Sisterhood is a non-profit organization that has helped more than 116,000 women pursue educational goals in the United States and Internationally.  Our local chapter, founded in 1979, has secured grants, loans and scholarships for many local women and we are currently searching for candidates who wish to complete their educational goals.

If interested in finding out more information, please call Jo Miller, 509-679-7976 in Chelan; Sandy Miller, 509-670-7440 in Manson; or Marge Green 307-473-1115 in Brewster.

This sisterhood is here to help women achieve their educational goals.
