Students at Manson High School Honor Veterans

MANSON – A group of students at Manson High School in Mr. Johanson and Ms. Sears Jobs for American Graduates class put together a Veterans Day Breakfast as part of a Senior Project.

The celebration was held this morning (Nov. 9) at the Students Center, all the Veterans in attendance enjoyed the traditional bacon and eggs breakfast with coffee and apple juice. Served along MHS Principal Shawn Thurman pancakes.

“Thank you guys for attending today, we really appreciate having a great turnout. This is for you guys, thank you for your service, couldn’t be more grateful for you guys to be with us this morning,” said Mr. Johanson. He also thanked students and staff for helping host the event.

On behalf of the American Legion Post 108 in Manson, Brian Strausbaugh said a few words. “Thank you to the school, the staff, the students, you do not know what all this means to us, we really appreciate it and we really appreciate your support.”

Strausbaugh reassured Manson School District Superintendent Matt Charlton that the American Legion will continue to do all they can to support the school and the community.

Victor Rodriguez a student who helped serve breakfast that morning said, “it’s always a good thing to pay our respects to all Veterans.”

Celebrations will continue in Manson on Nov. 11 at 11 a.m. as the American Legion holds a Veterans Day ceremony honoring all veterans at the American Legion Park.
