CHELAN/MANSON - The Lake Chelan Golf Club, Ladies Division proudly announces the 2019 recipients of the Ladies Golf Club Scholarships. Two scholarships were awarded this year. This scholarship is awarded to a senior girl on the Chelan and Manson golf team who plans to further their education after high school. It is based on academic achievement, extra-curricular activities, and community involvement.
This year, one $500 scholarship was awarded to Chelan’s Andrea Villa-Garcia. Andrea is the daughter of Abraham Villa and Maria Garcia. Andrea has maintained a 3.8 GPA while participating in several activities, golfing, and working part time. Andrea was a 4-year member of the CHS golf team. Head golf coach Kirk Einspahr is quoted: “I can say that Andrea is a top-notch person, both in and out of the classroom.”
Andrea plans to attend Washington State University next fall with a focus on Pre-Med. The Lake Chelan Golf Club, Ladies Division would like to congratulate Andrea and thank her for being such a wonderful ambassador for promoting women in golf.
Since there were no golf team members at Manson, the ladies golf club chose to award a second scholarship to a student athlete who plans to further her education after high school. This year’s winner of the $500 scholarship at Manson High School is Megan Clausen. This scholarship is based on academic achievement, extra-curricular activities and community involvement.
Megan is the daughter of Bruce and Sandra Clausen. She has maintained a 3.83 grade point average while participating in multiple school activities, athletics, and community projects.
Megan plans to attend George Fox University to pursue a career in Civil Engineering.
The Lake Chelan Golf Club, Ladies Division congratulates Megan and thanks her for being such a wonderful ambassador for promoting women in athletics.
