WENATCHEE – The Wenatchee Wild have announced a trade with the Medicine Hat Tigers of the Western Hockey League (WHL), sending 2006-born defenseman Jonas Woo to Medicine Hat in exchange for 2005-born blueliner Reid Andresen and a third-round selection in the 2025 WHL Prospects Draft.

A native of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Woo recently finished his second full season in the WHL, playing for the Winnipeg ICE prior to the organization’s relocation to Wenatchee last summer.

“We wish Jonas well,” said Wild general manager Bliss Littler. “We think he has a big future, and we are very excited about getting a similar player in Reid. We’re continuing to accumulate draft picks in our rebuild, and we believe this is a win-win for both parties.”

Both players were first-round selections in their respective WHL draft years, with Andresen going 11th overall to the Tigers in the 2020 WHL Prospects Draft and Woo going 18th overall to Winnipeg in the 2021 draft. Hailing from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Andresen comes to Wenatchee with 210 WHL games under his belt, all with Medicine Hat, scoring 20 goals and 66 assists in that time. This past year, he notched 32 points, including a career-high eight goals, over 67 appearances in helping the Tigers to 37 wins and the fourth-place spot in the Eastern Conference standings.

The Wenatchee Wild wish Jonas Woo all future success on and off the ice, and proudly welcome Reid Andresen to the Wild family.
