Easter Sunrise Service

SCOUT HILL/MANSON - A Easter Sunrise Service  will be held at Scout Hill in Manson at 6:30 a.m., conducted by Centro Cristiano. Breakfast at Centro Cristiano following the service.

Lake Celan United Methodist Church

CHELAN - Maundy Thursday Service, April 13, 7 p.m. with meditation, music, scripture.  Easter Breakfast, Sunday, April 16, 9:30-10:30 am, the men of the church will make our Easter breakfast. Eggs, sausages, blueberry pancakes with syrup, Spam (of course), biscuits and gravy, apple sauce, apple cider, orange juice, milk, coffee, and tea. Where else can you have such a breakfast all for the price of a donation? Easter egg hunt, 10:30-11 a.m. followed by the Easter Service at 11 a.m.

North Shore Bible Church

MANSON - A Good Friday Cantata will be presented April 14, 7 p.m. at North Shore Bible Church. Easter Service, Sunday, April 16, at 9:30 a.m. North Shore Bible Church.

Orondo Community Church

ORONDO - The Orondo Community Church will host its annual Easter Son-Rise Service at 7:30 a.m. April 16 at Orondo River Park, 21552 Highway 97, mile post 215. Those attending should gather near the pavilion overlooking the river and bring a chair or blanket for seating.  Everyone is invited to the bilingual service of worship, celebration and reflection.  Coffee and doughnuts will be served, for more information call 664-0675.

St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church

CHELAN - Easter Services at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, 120 East Woodin. April 9: Palm Sunday Service, 10:00 a.m.; April 13: Maundy Thursday, 7:00 p.m.; April 14: Good Friday, 12:00 Noon: April 16: Easter Sunday, 10:00 a.m. 

Manson Parks Easter Egg Hunt

MANSON - Bring  your basket  and us the fun the the Manson Parks annual Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 15 for a morning of fun. Ages 0-3, 10 a.m. at Singleton Park; Ages 4-6, 10:10 a.m. at Singleton Park Playground’ and ages 7 and older, 10:45 a.m. at Manson Bay Park. For more information call the Parks office at 687-9635. 

Lake Chelan Eagles/Lions Easter Egg Hunt

  CHELAN - All are welcome to the Lake Chelan Eagles and Lions annual Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 15, at 11 a.m., at Don Morse Park. The Easter Bunny may make a special appearance and three bikes will be given away as prizes. For more information call 682-2021. 

 

Clothing Closet looking for new home

CHELAN - Riverwalk Clothing Closet is looking for a new home.  If you are interested please contact Kym Beier at (509) 413-6263 or Chelan Valley Hope. We are planning to have this ministry off sight by April 14. Please consider organizing this ministry to the Chelan area.  Clothing and some hanging racks are available for re-start up.

CHELAN - The regular meeting for Chelan County Fire District #7  will be held Wednesday, April 12, at the fire station, corner of Wapato and Sanders. The meeting will begin at 4 p.m. www.chelan7.com

Story time at library

CHELAN - Story time is every Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Chelan Public Library located on Emerson Street. Join them for singing, dancing, clapping, music making as well as reading. It’s both fun and educational!

Story time at library

MANSON - Every Wednesday at 11 a.m. the Manson Community Library offers a story time for children ages 2 to 5 and their caregivers.  Join the group for a half hour of stories, rhymes, songs, finger plays and other activities.  For more information call the library at 687-3420.

After school activity at library

MANSON - “The Page Turners” is the name for the group of kids that gather at the Manson Community library to listen to stories after school.  They will meet every Wednesday at 3:45 p.m.  The group will have an after school snack, listen to a short story and one chapter of a continuing chapter book and make a craft.  This group is most appropriate for ages 6 to 10 but all children are welcome.  For more information call the library at 687-3420.

Veteran’s Assistance

CHELAN - The Chelan County Veteran’s Service Coordinator will be in Chelan the second Thursday of each month, beginning Feb. 9. Billy Thames will be at the Apple Cup Cafe Banquet Room, 9-11 a.m. Those veterans who need to file a claim or inquire about benefits can come at that time. Methodist men’s group

CHELAN - The Lake Chelan United Methodist Men’s group meets the 2nd and 4th Thursdays, at The Vogue, at 7 a.m.. All men who have a belief in Jesus Christ are welcome to attend.

Celebrate Recovery

CHELAN - Lake Chelan Celebrate Recovery Meets every Thursday at Living Stone Church, (formerly Little Stone Church), 2133 W. Woodin Avenue. Dinner is at 6 p.m., cost is $3. Group meeting at 6:30 p.m., followed by gender-specific small groups. Celebrate Recovery is a confidential, Biblically-based twelve step program for anyone struggling with addiction, co-dependency, gambling, relationships and other life issues.

CHELAN - Baby rhymin’ time is every Friday at 10 a.m., at the Chelan Pubic Library on Emerson Street, for ages 0-3 years. Join them for singing, dancing, nursery rhymes, musical instruments, and story telling for babies, waddlers and toddlers. 

Community ‘Soup’ Kitchen

CHELAN - The Lake Chelan United Methodist Church Community ‘Soup’ Kitchen is open every Friday, noon to 1:30 p.m. The church is located at the corner of Johnson and Emerson, and is on a bus route.

Nyaho to perform at Omak PAC

OMAK - Audience will delight in the piano music of William Chapman Nyaho, who will perform at the Omak Performing Arts Center Friday, April 14 at 7 p.m. A unique cultural experience is guaranteed as this prize-wining pianist shares his African roots in an inspirational musical event. He has performed in Africa, Europe, The Caribbean and North America. Nyaho’s love of music is expressed through his insightful technique, creating an exciting musical experience. HDCA  Garage-A-Rama

CHELAN - HDCA will host Garage-A-Rama on April 15,  9  a.m.-4 p.m. on the corner of Woodin Avenue and Columbia Avenue, in the Coldwell Banker Parking lot.

Fire department open house

CHELAN - The Chelan Fire Department will hold an open house at Station 71, 232 Wapato, on April 15, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Lunch will be served, along with activities: Check out the various fire apparatus and parade truck, Chelan EMS information, Life Flight based at the Brewster Airport, Rivercom 911, children’s activities. Arbor Day tree distribution

ENTIAT - Tree and shrub distribution will be on Saturday, April 15, Entiat City Hall parking lot, 10 a.m.  -  1 p.m. or until the trees are gone. Senior Living Initiative meeting

CHELAN - Senior Living Initiative Steering Committee Meeting will be Wednesday, April 19, 5-6:30 p.m.,  in the PUD Conference Room on Woodin Avenue. All are welcome to attend.

MANSON - The Manson Farmers Market will be holding their annual meeting at the Manson Grange Hall, Wednesday, April 19, 7:30 p.m.  All previous and new vendors are encouraged to attend.  A starting date will be determined, as well as some other concerns or ideas. CHELAN - Second Meeting Added: The Women’s Wellness Group, cancer support group, now has 2 support groups, the second Tuesday of each month for lunch, with lunch provided by the Wenatchee Wellness Place, at the Lake Chelan Community Hospital Board Room at 11:45 a.m. and the fourth Wednesday of each month at LaBrisa at 5 p.m.  For more information, contact Anne at 682-8718.

Soaring into Spring with kites, rockets

MANSON  - Soaring into Spring, sponsored by the North Shore Bible Church will be held on Sunday, April 30, 2-4 p.m. at Singleton Park, with fun for the whole family. Kites: make your own to fly or bring your favorite, or try some of the mini kites. Rockets: Stomp Rockets for everyone,  Big Rocket demos, launch rockets made during the workshop. Workshop will be Saturday, April 29, 10 a.m. at North Shore Bible Church, 123 Wapato Point Parkway.  There will be 25 rockets available, come make your own rocket to launch. Must call 687-3636 to reserve your rocket.

Potluck dinner

CHELAN - Berean Baptist Church has a potluck dinner after the morning service on the last Sunday of every month. The church is located at 515.  E. Woodin Ave. There will be no evening service on the Sunday.

NCSC to meet 

CHELAN - The next meeting of the North Cascades Sportsman Club board will be held on Wednesday, May 3. Board meetings are held the first Wednesday of the month at 7 p.m. Meetings take place at the Chelan PUD located at 1034 E. Woodin Ave. in Chelan.

Aging & Adult Services board meeting

EAST WENATCHEE - The 2017 meeting schedule for the Columbia River Council of Governments, governing body of Aging and Adult Care of Central Washington, scheduled to meet at 50 Simon Street S.E.: April 6; May 4; June 1; July 6; Aug. 3; Sept. 7; Oct. 5; Nov. 2; and Dec.7.   All meetings begin at 1:30 p.m. Grant County Commissioner Cindy Carter is chair of the council, composed of one county commissioner from Adams, Chelan, Douglas, Grant, Lincoln, and Okanogan Counties. First annual Vineyards Runs

CHELAN - The Lake Chelan Rotary’s First Annual Lake Chelan Vineyard Runs will be held Saturday, May 20, in the vineyards of Tsillan Cellars and Tunnel Hill Winery.
