Lady Tigers working on fundamentals

Posted

ENTIAT - The Lady Tigers have been working on their fundamentals during their practices in order to prepare for the upcoming season games.

With a couple of young girls in this year’s team, Head Coach Laurie Pipkin has focused her attention in positing, passing well, looking up when the team has possession and so on.

Pipkin is looking to rebuild the team, as they lost three seniors last year.

Faith Southard an all-league returner, will be running the offense along with Gracie Giacomazzi’s strength and physicality.

Juniors Gemma Delgado and Mika Sanford are also key players for the team.

So far, “defense is looking pretty good and they are good teammates,” stated Pipkin.

The girls encourage each other, help one another, “that will take us a long way,” Coach added.

Compete with other team’s in the league is a high priority for the Lady Tigers. For Pipkin, Pateros and Riverside Christian will the toughest in the league. However, “anything can happen,” she said.

The Lady Tigers will be hitting the road to face Cascade Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 6.

Overall, the team is 2-1 early in the season, with a wins against Manson and Columbia.
