97 A is now cleared

South Lakeshore Road

South Lakeshore Road will continue to be closed to traffic at Slide Ridge (about 2.5 miles up from the state park). Only local traffic is able to use the bypass road. The bypass road (a short road that runs adjacent to and at a higher elevation than the South Lakeshore Road) is one lane, with a flagger controlling traffic. The area needs time to dry out, so that road closure is expected through the weekend and into next week. The public is asked to stay away from the slide area.

An automated traffic signal will be in place early this evening, replacing the flaggers who have been manning the bypass road since the landslide on Tuesday. The automated signal will be directing traffic through the bypass road. Motorists are asked to plan for up to 10-minute traffic delays over the weekend. Crews are expected to begin working to remove debris from South Lakeshore Road on Monday.

97A Entiat

The road is now cleared and open after yesterday's mudslide from milepost 218 at Earthquake Point, just north of Eniat, to milepost 223 at SR 971 (Navarre Coulee Road), 9 miles south of Chelan.
