Contained barbecues and camp stoves allowed

Posted

BEEBE BRIDGE PARK/DOUGLAS COUNTY - Due to the very hot and dry conditions predicted for the Chelan and Douglas County areas, Chelan County PUD is prohibiting open campfires at Beebe Bridge Park located in Douglas County off of Highway 97.

Contained barbecues and camp stoves will be allowed, but the PUD urges park-users to be very careful. Yesterday, June 29, the Washington State Department of Fish and Wildlife issued a similar warning for its properties.

The PUD wishes everyone a very Happy – and SAFE – Fourth of July.

Please join the festivities Tuesday, July 4 at Walla Walla Point Park. For more information about the 4th of July in Wenatchee, visit:  http://wenatcheevalleyfourth.com/events/

Editors Note: There will also be public displays of fireworks in Chelan (July1) and Manson (July 4).
