Free brush collection Friday, May 19, Sat., May 20

CHELAN - Attention Residents of the Chelan and Manson area: This Friday and Saturday, May 19 and 20 there will be a free brush collection event at the Chelan Recycle Center (near WalMart) for those people wanting to reduce brush and woody vegetation debris considered to be fire fuels from around their homes and lots.

Hours will be 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days.

The free event is not for normal yard waste. The offer is open to residential applications only and is limited to removal of brush that could contribute significantly to wildfire spread. 

Examples of brush that is considered a fire fuel would be sagebrush, juniper, arborvitae and bitter brush. 

Please do not bring leaves, grass clippings, trash, noxious weeds, stumps or any other normal yard waste to the brush pile that weekend. 

Let’s all work together to make the Chelan and Manson area more fire safe!
