Lake Chelan Valley full of events in September

The children have gone back to school, school sports have started, the Labor Day Holiday is behind us, and there are lots of events happening here  in the Lake Chelan Valley this month. Check them out.

 

Sept. 7

Zucchini Races at Farmers Market

CHELAN - Chelan Thursday Evening Farmers Market brings you another year of Great Zucchini racing on Sept. 7, 4:30-6 p.m. Grow your own Zucchini Race car. Race it at the Chelan Evening Farmers Market. Build your racer at the Farmer’s Market and race it with friends, family, and neighbors. Everyone can participate, everyone’s a winner, and it’s free. Local businesses and organizations compete in a Show-n-Shine for the best Race Car designs, bragging rights and a year with the coveted Trophy. Don’t miss this yearly fun family-friendly event.

 

Sept. 9 

Lake Chelan Swim

MANSON - The 7th annual Lake Chelan Swim, a 1.5 mile swim for adults and children over 12, will be held on Saturday, Sept. 9, from Willow Point Park to Manson Bay Park. To register  www.lakechelanswim.com

 

Shore to Shore Half Marathon, 10k

canceled due to poor air quality forecast

CHELAN/MANSON - The Shore to Shore half marathon and 10k races have been canceled due to continuing poor air quality forecast for the region.

 

Fall In Lake Chelan Car Show and Bridge Dance 

CHELAN - Participants enjoy BBQ, live music, beer garden and more on Friday night with the main show and shine on Saturday at Riverwalk Park. Free music and dancing on the old bridge at 7 p.m. For info www.lakechelancarshow.com

 

Sept. 9-10

Lake Chelan Sailing Regatta                            

CHELAN - The 45th annual Lake Chelan Sailing Regatta will be held Sept. 9 and 10. Always the weekend after Labor Day. Join them for a weekend of sailing fun in a well organized yet friendly competition for all sailors. One design and portsmouth classes will vie for cheap awards while sailing on the clean, clear water of Lake Chelan. Guild B Home Tour

CHELAN - MANSON - Lake Chelan Hospital Guild B annual Home Tour and Art Sale on Sept. 16, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Art show at Tsillan Cellars, 10 a.m.- 4 p.m. No ticket needed for art show. Home tour features four spectacular and unique homes. Tickets on sale at Allisons in Manson, Culinary Apple and Lake Chelan Chamber of Commerce in Chelan and www.LakeChelanHomeTour.com All proceeds used to purchase needed medical equipment for Lake Chelan Community Hospital.

 

Max Family Fun Run & Walk

MANSON - The 4th Annual Family XCountry Fun Run with Lake Chelan Community Hospital and Clinics wellness dog Max is a free event. It will be held Saturday, Sept. 16, 9 a.m., at Wapato Point (new location) in Manson. No Pets please. Please park at North Shore Bible Church. • 2.5 K or timed 5 K for all ages  ( Race starts at 9 a.m.) • T-shirts for first 100 to check-in on race day • Prizes  (All Fun Run race participants are eligible for prize drawings) • Partnership with Manson XCountry Invitational (school races after Fun Run). Max Kids’ Wellness funded by Lake Chelan Health & Wellness Foundation

 

Sept. 23

HDCA Sip & Stroll

CHELAN - The Historic Downtown Chelan Association (HDCA) will host their 5th annual Sip & Stroll in downtown Chelan on Sept. 23, 3 p.m.-6 p.m. This year, the event will host nine local wineries, a local brewery and a local cider house.  Tickets cost $35 and include a souvenir wine glass and are available for purchase under Chelan events on Brownpapertickets.com or by calling HDCA at (509) 682-4322.

Sept. 30- Oct 1

Manson Hydrofest

MANSON - Unlimited hydroplanes will race Sept.-Oct. 1 in an up-close course between Wapato Point and Manson Bay, with unrestricted views from the shoreline at Manson Bay. Weekend specials in Manson, crafts and food. For information Julie, (253) 229-5350.
