Helen Loraine DeArmond, 59, passed away peacefully at Central Washington Hospital from complications of an autoimmune distorter affecting her lungs.  Her beloved husband Jerry McKinney and son David DeArmond were by her side on March 15, 2019.  Helen was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend.

Helen was born July 13, 1959 in Tacoma, Wash., to Marian Mathers and Joe DeArmond. Helen grew up in the Chelan Valley having a great passion for gardening, canning, and cooking which was passed along to her from mother Marian and her grandma Helen. Spending the day shopping was one of her favorite ways to spend the day. Helen had an amazing acceptance about her, she would welcome and listen to anyone. She loved her family with her whole being.

She had a uncanny sixth sense about her and would often know what her family was up to. Helen meant so much to so many people, she will be forever loved.

Helen is survived by her loving husband, Jerry McKinney of Chelan, son David DeArmond and his wife Truc Phuong Mai, aka Pink, granddaughter Ellie Mai and grandson Ryker DeArmond of Chelan, sister’s Jody Ruiz and Greg Isensee of Brewster, Wash., and Cindy Shehee of Wenatchee, Wash., niece Rachel Buchanan and Blake Buchanan and great nephew Corbin Buchanan of Moses Lake, nephew Joaquin Ruiz of Brewster, and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends as well as others she made feel like family.

Helen was proceeded in death by her mother, Marian Mathers, father Joe DeArmond, grandparents, Lyle and Helen Mathers.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 6, 2019, at the Lake Chelan Eagles upstairs.
