Heaven opened its gates on the morning of Friday, September 21, 2018 at 9:06 a.m. to welcome the beautiful soul of Karen “KD” Shrader. On Thursday, June 15, 1944 the world was consumed by the events of WWII. But in the town of Omak, Wash., Neal and Mary Clark were consumed with the joy of their new baby girl. Born the 3rd of 8 children, Karen grew up in a noisy home full of love and laughter. She soon moved from Omak to Colville and then to East Wenatchee where she graduated from Eastmont High School. Karen later married Chester Leroy Shrader in 1967 and then had 4 incredible sons. Shortly after, Karen stepped into the role as a single Mom and found herself forced to work many hours every day to provide for her children but always found a way to show love and support to her boys. Her many roles included “Soccer Mom”, “Swim Mom”, “Baseball Mom”, “Football Mom”, “Referee” and “Provider” but the ones she loved the most were simply “Mom” or “Grandee". As the boys grew, Karen found time on the side to attend college and received a Business degree from Wenatchee Valley College and graduated with honors. This was a very proud moment for all of us.

Karen was devoted to her family and Christ and is survived by her sons and their family. Ken Shrader, wife Janie, children Mikaila and Lucas, grandkids Jaylee and Adalee, Mike Shrader, wife Dina, children Brandon and Jazlena, Steve Shrader, wife Hydee, children Justus, Jordan, Hunter, Beaux and Fischer, Brian Shrader, wife Michaela and daughter Samantha.
Karen fought her illnesses bravely for many years and was surrounded by her beloved family as she was called home to Christ.

Matthew 11:28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened and I will give you rest”.
