5th Annual Pumpkin Patch now open at Chelan Valley Farms

Posted

MANSON – Saturday, Sept. 23 marked the opening of Chelan Valley Farms and Lagrioth Winery’s fifth annual pumpkin patch with a free-entry family event honoring our region’s natural bounty.

Hosting frequent community events, Chelan Valley Farm invites visitors to experience their charming farmlands, whose mission is “making wine, gathering with people, and preserving the land for future generations by using regenerative farming methods”.

The working farm is quietly nestled amongst stately mountains, graceful rolling hills and crystal-clear waters, all of which invite patrons for the day or even longer.

Saturday’s event boasted a delightful harvest festival, visitors to the farm wandering amidst apple trees, pumpkin patches, U-pick flower gardens, and verdant lawns. Tractor hayride tours carried visitors throughout the farm, driver and co-owner Chad Steiner stopping often to explain elements of apple growth and offering sunflower and apple samples.

Visitors were also graced with donuts and other fresh-baked goodies from Sugar Sweet Treats, non-alcoholic cider-tasting by Sheffield Cider and wine-tasting from their own Lagrioth Winery. Toys and open play areas were also available for kids, while adults got to enjoy live music by Jeff Mclaren, and local craft vendors. The afternoon culminated in a good old-fashioned apple pie bake-off.

The pumpkin patch is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., every Saturday and Sunday through Oct. 29. Community members are also invited to attend their costume contest, which will be hosted beginning at noon on Saturday, Oct. 28.

Chelan Valley Farms and Lagrioth Winery can be found at 2389 Green Ave. in Manson.
