New Church welcomed in Manson by Chamber

MANSON - The Manson Chamber of Commerce announced the addition of a new member to the community, Mission Ridge Bible Church. 

Lead Pastor, David Belcher stated, “Mission Ridge Bible Church was founded for the purpose of establishing a church that is based in the fundamentals of the Christian faith. Our church is focused on Bible preaching and teaching, prayer, praise, and loving Christian fellowship. Mission Ridge Bible Church is non-denominational, avoiding the unbiblical, progressive, and liberal drifts of most denominations of our age.”

 Mission Ridge Bible Church is affiliated through membership with the Independent Fundamental Churches of America.

 

Pastor David was born in Monterey, California, his father was stationed there while serving in the Army. He was raised in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia, the youngest of three boys. David graduated from Fork Union Military Academy in Fork Union, Virginia, in 2002 and was recruited as a linebacker for Marshall University. He played football for two years before joining the ROTC and graduated with a Business Management and Economics degree.

 

David followed in his father’s footsteps spending 10 years in the Army serving as an Infantry officer. He was deployed for back-to-back, yearlong tours during Operation Iraqi Freedom. Pastor David and his wife, Anya moved from Virginia to the Chelan valley after his discharge from active service. Anya is originally from Cashmere, a teacher by profession and coaches girls soccer for Cashmere High School.

 

Pastor David, a pastor for over five years was seminary trained at Talbot School of Theology at La Mirada, California

 

Mission Ridge Bible Church’s Elder Board consists of Ron Trickett, Vance Boulanger, Gene Pearce and Daniel Avery. Tom Fix serves as a Deacon. Current staff includes David Belcher, Pastor, Anya Belcher, Secretary, Christine Boulanger, Treasurer/Congregational Care. There are many volunteer opportunities available. Sunday service is held at 10:30 a.m. in the Manson Grange Hall. The church offers a Monday night prayer meeting and Wednesday night Bible study, both held over the internet (Zoom). The links are available on their church website. A monthly men's breakfast is also held in various locations with a Bible study and prayer.

The Manson Chamber of Commerce will hold a “Welcome to Town” ribbon cutting ceremony on Jan. 7 at 10:15 a.m.
