Week of August 7
Bridge Inspections: The week of Aug. 7, a consultant will be completing routine bridge inspections on a variety of Chelan County bridges. The work requires one-lane, flagger-controlled traffic on the bridges while the crew works. Motorists should plan for minor traffic delays, or to avoid the bridges while crews are working. The following bridges are scheduled for inspection:
August 9: Chiwawa River Bridge, over the Chiwawa River on Chiwawa Loop Road at milepost 3.8 to 4.0. Work will be in the morning and afternoon.
August10: Ardenvoir Bridge, over the Entiat River on Mad River Road at milepost 0 to 0.1. Work will be in the morning.
August 10: Peshastin Bridge, over the Wenatchee River on Main Street near its intersection with U.S. Highway 2. Work will be in 1 to 5 p.m.
August 11: Stone Hill Bridge on Colockum Road at milepost 17.6 to 17.7. Work will be in the morning. Work will not require traffic control; however, motorists should watch for workers near the road.
Goodwin Road/Sunset Road Improvement Project: The consultant continues to work on sidewalk and driveways this week. Plan to see flaggers continue to direct traffic in the project area during working hours. More information about the project is on the project’s webpage.
Maintenance plans may change with weather conditions or equipment difficulties. Visit the Public Works website, where the weekly road maintenance information is regularly updated.
 District 1 (Wenatchee)
The crew will be doing shoulder work and ditching in the Stemilt area. Plan for one-lane, flagger-controlled traffic if you come upon a crew working.
 District 4 (Entiat)
The crew will be brushing under bridges and doing some roadside shoulder work in the Ardenvoir area.
 District 5 (Chelan)
Crews will be skip patching alleys in Manson and on Roses Avenue. Skip patching requires one-lane, flagger-controlled traffic while the crew works. The crew also will be filling shoulder washes in the Manson area and in the Boyd Road area. And the crew will be ditching in the Manson area (one-lane, flagger-controlled traffic) as well as brooming roads that were skip patched.
Skip patching is similar to chip sealing, but the road crew is putting oil and rock down on a much smaller area. Skip patching is done on roads that are not scheduled for preservation next season.
