The Apple Cup Men’s Golf Tournament raises nearly $10,000

CHELAN - It was a fantastic weekend to have some fun on the golf course knowing funds raised will make a difference in others’ lives. The Lake Chelan Men’s Club hosted the “Apple Cup” Golf Tournament on July 16- 17, at the Lake Chelan Municipal golf Course.  
The event brought out a full field of players raising nearly $10,000 for local programs ranging from Food Bank donations, aid to fire victims, to local scholarships for the greater Chelan/Manson area.  John Hancock, Chelan Men’s Association president, stated “This outing is a great way to bring golfers, business partners and community together each year to support local programs. Besides the fun and fellowship, we raised funds to support important local charities. Each year the tournament has grown due to people who want to make a difference, we look forward to its continued growth.”   Each golfer received a commemorative t-shirt and ball marker as a thanks for donating to these worthy causes.

Lake Chelan Men’s Golf
The Lake Chelan Men’s Golf Club Association is proud to share that they have awarded $6,000 dollars in scholarships to each Chelan and Manson High School 2022 graduating students.   The Lake Chelan Men’s Golf Association (LCMGA) is committed to providing funds to support our schools and community.    
The criteria for eligibility include being a 2022 graduating Senior from Chelan or Manson High Schools.  The student(s) must be accepted by an accredited two or four-year accredited program, college or university.  The recipients displayed a commitment to community-service, along with active participation in athletics/leadership and/or extracurricular activities.  As the game of golf demands attributes such as patience, persistence, respect, honesty and integrity, these scholarship recipients reflect similar character traits.  
Congratulations to the following students who have been selected as the 2022 scholarship recipients.  Scholarship recipients were recognized at their perspective Senior Awards ceremonies June 7.
