Apple Cup Charity Golf Tournament to support scholarships, school golf programs

CHELAN — The annual Apple Cup Charity Golf Tournament will return July 18-19 at the Chelan Golf Course, continuing a longtime fundraising effort supporting student scholarships and high school golf programs in the Lake Chelan Valley.

The tournament is hosted by the Lake Chelan Men’s Golf Association. Registration information is available through the Chelan Golf Club website.

Proceeds from the tournament, auction and raffle help fund scholarships for graduating seniors from Chelan and Manson high schools who are continuing their education at colleges or trade schools. Funds also support boys and girls golf programs at both schools.

Organizers said the Chelan Men’s Golf Association plans to award $20,000 in student scholarships in 2026 because of continued community fundraising support.

The association also recognized donors and supporters who contributed to its 2026 winter fundraising event, which helped fund two additional student scholarships.

The winter fundraiser included an auction featuring virtual golf experiences and golf course certificates, along with requests for cash donations. Danen and Heather Barnhart submitted the top bid for the golf package.

Cash donations were also received from Michael and Sonia Smith, Greg and Deb Feist, Ray and Cindy Wilson, Scott and Becky McDonald, Tom and Dina King, Michael and Charlotte Ochoa, and Bob and Patti Matson.

The association also thanked members of the 4th Quarter Road Biking Group for supporting the fundraising effort.
