Chelan High School Golf

MALAGA - The Chelan Boys Golf Team participated today in the Jack Barnes Invitational at Three Lakes Golf Course in Malaga.  Being only the second time on a course this season for several  and the third match for several, and practices on an elementary softball field the rest of the time (chipping practice only), scores were certainly not where we hope them to be later in the season.
Scoring best for the boys was 9th grader Carson Clinton with a 10-over-par 79.  Carson is still a bit rusty from the winter layoff, but never shot more than a 1-over par for any hole and included 6 pars and a birdie.
The others playing for Chelan, including Chase Woodley (11th grade), John Ludwig (10th grade), Grant Coonrod (9th grade) and Cooper Neff (8th grade) all had some good holes and some not-so-good ones too.
We now go into a bit of practice time with spring break coming up and our next matches being our own hosted Gamble Sands Invitational tournaments for boys (April 11) and girls (April 12).  The CTL league matches will begin the following week.
