The Goats came out a bit flat offensively in the 3rd quarter where they were outscored 10-6 but came back in the 4th quarter to seal their first win of the season against the Coyotes.
"This tournament was good for us to get away and regroup as a team. Despite the win tonight we had a chance to have some candid conversations about how to proceed in the second half of the season. It is tough to get back on the horse after falling off over and over again but our team doesn't give up. They want to win. They want to get better," says Nick Longmire, Head Coach of the Mountain Goats. "We have the opportunity to continue to turn the season around," Coach Longmire adds.
The Mountain Goats were led in scoring by Junior Arabelle Finch with 12 points. Juliana Perez followed with nine points. Jayden Simmons and Kira Sandoval each added eight points. Jailyn Reinhart scored seven. Marley Williams scored six and Jayci Simmons had three for the Mountain Goats.
