CHELAN - Head Coach Amaris Longmire leads the team along with Varsity Assistant Seth Manthey and Junior Varsity Coach Reece Bauer. Amaris is in her 4th season with the Goats following two seasons at Tacoma middle schools and volunteering at Cashmere High School.
Seth is in his 3rd coaching season and is a Chelan High graduate and former Goat. New to the team this year is Varsity Assistant Coach Reece Bauer. She is also Chelan High’s Junior Varsity basketball coach. Also mentioned was volunteer Coach Rhett Crow.
With six returning starters, two seniors, four juniors and two sophomores, the team is fairly new this year.
When asked about new players to the team coach Amaris says, “ we have a number of new players who have either come out for the first time this season or who did not play last year and decided to turn out again. We also have a group of 8th graders who were allowed to play JV this season. This is going to make our program grow and be stronger in the coming years. By having 8th graders this year, we are able to field a JV which allows players to get time on the field who would otherwise not see time on Varsity this season.’’
