Chelan Rustlers host annual Chelan Junior Rodeo

Youth rodeo enthusiasts from Washington State and surrounding areas competed in the Chelan Junior Rodeo on Saturday, July 30 and 31 at the Chelan Rustlers Rodeo arena in Union Valley. The rodeo featured competitors ranging in age from 2-18 years and hosted 55 events. Youth compete year-round throughout the northwest in preparation and participate in events varying from dummy roping to barreling, stake racing and beyond. Event categories featured at this year’s Chelan Junior Rodeo included mutton bustin’, goat tail untying, barrel racing, cal stake racing, dummy roping, calf riding, goat flanking, pole bending, cow riding, goat tying, breakaway roping, steer daubing, chute dogging, steer bareback, calf stake tying, steer riding, bull riding, bareback, saddle bronc, calf roping, and steer wrestling.
