CHELAN — Chelan Valley Community Nurse (CVCN) is holding their major fundraiser on August 23 from 3–9 p.m. at the Four Lakes Winery in Manson, and the theme this year is “Summer of Love,” a fun take on hippie culture and music.
CVCN supports frail and vulnerable adults in the Chelan Valley, enabling them to remain in their homes. Their goal is to enhance the health and well-being of the Chelan Valley’s elderly community. They do it through registered nurse home visits that offer health screenings and education, and by connecting individuals to valuable community services and programs.
The support CVCN provides helps people needing assistance at home due to daily living challenges, fall risks, hospital transitions, medication management, new diagnoses, social resource needs or even just a desire for professional nursing guidance.
Their fundraising events are a major source of their total revenue, and this one promises to be “out of this world, man.” Live bands will be performing, including Waterdog, The B-Side and Stehekin’s own Agnes on Fire.
There will of course be food and beverages on hand, plus a costume contest, a kids’ craft table and a silent auction, which they are accepting item donations for now by emailing chelanvalleycommunitynurse@gmail.com or calling (509) 679-9059.
Four Lakes Winery is located at 11 Wine Garden Lane in Manson, situated in the middle of Dry Lake, Wapato Lake and Roses Lake for a stunning view. Tickets are $25 in advance or $30 at the gate. Well-behaved dogs are welcome on a leash.
