Chelan’s Housing Trust purchases two lots in Chelan

CHELAN –The Chelan Valley Housing Trust is the new owner of two lots in south Chelan, according to Rachael Goldie, the trust’s executive director. “We’ve been looking hard for property that was reasonably affordable and nearly shovel ready to develop,” says Goldie. “This new Iowa St. property is going to give two working Chelan valley families a home next year.”

Goldie credits the successful purchase to North Cascades Bank for a ready line of credit, generous donations from the community, and the trust’s board members for finding the property.

A capital campaign is being setup to help with the acquisition, development, and construction costs for the two single family homes planned for the property. The campaign will also include fundraising for the 40 affordable home Chelan River Heights development scheduled for 2024.
