ENTIAT - Wellpinit defeated Entiat 34-16 at Entiat Friday night, Sept. 2.
Head Coach Brian Bailey's comments: Wellpinit was ranked as high as #10 in some pre-season polls/publications. They showed why on Friday night.  I thought they  came out hungry and played a really good game against us.  They are an experienced upperclassman-heavy team, and came out with an energy and intensity we had trouble matching on Friday.
We just dug ourselves too big of a hole to overcome in the first half, falling behind 28-8 at half.  Wellpinit made some key plays in the first half and capitalized on our (Entiat's) mistakes and turnovers.  Five or six key plays all went Wellpinit's way in the first half, and many times that's what turns a high school football game.  We came out in the second half and played a much cleaner final  two quarters, holding Wellpinit to a mere 6 points in the second half, and scoring 8 points on our first drive of the second half.
Entiat Quarterback Landon Crutcher was 18-29 passing, for 208 yards and two TDs.  Tailback Pedro Arias accumulated 150 total yards (110 receiving and 40 rushing), and scored on a 64 yard TD pass from Crutcher for Entiat's first TD.  Freshman Sebastian Sanchez completed the scoring for Entiat with a 39 yard TD reception from Crutcher on the first drive of the 2nd half.  Defensively, Noah Fogelstrom and Sanchez led the way with 7 and 6 tackles each, respectively.  Defensive Linemen Monico Valadez-Robinson, Braedyn Brumback, and Isaiah Brumback played a solid game up front, each contributing two tackles for loss apiece.
Entiat played #5 ACH on the road Friday, Sept. 9 at Coulee City.
