CHELAN – Chelan Goats hosted the Omak Pioneers, Friday, Dec. 15. The Pioneers brought a strong game defensively and offensively to the Goats’ home turf.
The Lady Goats took a loss to the Lady Pioneers 34-43, after a hard-fought battle from quarter to quarter. “Chelan held Omak to six first quarter points,” explained Lady Goats’ Head Coach Steve Nygreen, “but struggled to convert their many opportunities as they entered halftime, down 10-17.” The Ladies came back after the half-time and were making way toward the catching up to the Pioneers, but were unable to close the gap in time. “We consistently defend the perimeter well,” said Nygreen, “we were more aggressive getting to the basket … I loved the defense.”
The boys hit the same luck while facing the Pioneers, resulting in a defeat for the Goats with a final score of 52-66. No stats were available for the boys’ game in time for print.
