lake chelan ladies golf club Tee time

Posted

CHELAN - Brrrr, it was a chilly 49-degree morning in Chelan. Once again, a dozen women decided that today (April 11) was a good day to play golf. By hole 5 or 6 we were shedding a few layers as the sun peeked out.

Today’s competition was Better Nine (best front or back nine less ½ handicap).
Division 1: First place: Barb Rayburn, 35.5
Division 2: First place:  Linda Hahn, 32. Second place: Nancy Judson, 34.
Division3: First place: Karen Erickson, 38

The only birdie today was made by Barb Rayburn on hole #9. The chip-in girls today were: Candace Farnsworth on hole 4; Jaclyn Starr-Evans on hole 6; Karen Erickson on hole 6.
After play, our Assistant Pro, Mark Lawrence, gave us a class in the new changes in the golf rules for this year. Always confusing when they change the rules on us old dogs. Most of the changes will facilitate the pace of play which we will appreciate in the heat of summer.

It was a tough week saying goodbye to our good friend and club member, Gail Bender. Her family held a heartfelt celebration of life for her on Saturday at Northshore Bible Church. She will be greatly missed by our club and everyone who knew her.

Next week’s competition is Medal Play (low gross and net of field, low net by division). Tee time is 9:30 a.m. (April 18), please check in by 9  a.m.  If you would like to join our group, show up at 8:45 a.m. and we will walk you through it.
