LAKE CHELAN LADIES GOLF CLUB TEE TIME – MAY 19

The Lake Chelan Ladies Golf Club hosted the AVWGA Team competition on Thursday. Our club played the team from Ellensburg.  Even though the weather was brutal, the greens were fabulous.

Our Team made up some ground from the last event. Each Chelan team won Honeypot money meaning they took a lot of points; winning in all of their matches. Competing today were Jan Artim , April Talley, Linda Reister, Candace Farnsworth, Linda Hahn and Jaclyn Starr-Evans.

Eleven players in the ladies group patiently followed the pack of the Team for the regular competition. This week’s regular competition was Medal Play (low gross and net of field, low net by division).

Low gross of field: Nancy Judson, 103. Low net of field: Jo Higgins, 73.

Division 1: No players as they were all playing Team. 

Division 2: First Place: Sherry Ochsner, 80. 

Division 3: First Place: Karen Erickson, 76. Second Place: Joni Dedo, 78. 

Two lucky girls split the chip-in pot that carried over for two weeks. Chip-ins were made by Jo Higgins on hole 9 and Barb D’Ettorre on hole 13. No one made a birdie.

This week’s competition is Blind Mice: the pro shop draws three holes after we tee off and we subtract these holes from our gross score less full handicap. Also, Round Three matches of the Apple Blossom Tournament will take place Thursday, May 26; Jan Artim plays Jo Higgins and Linda Hahn plays Karen Holst. The two winners of these matches go on to compete the following week for the winning spot.

Karma did a nice "box lunch" for our ladies Team and we broke in the downstairs event room, though it's not quite ready. Big exciting changes happening at the golf course. Stay tuned.
