Lake Chelan Valley Boys and Girls Club honors youth member

CHELAN — The Lake Chelan Valley Boys & Girls Club honored 11-year-old Kinsley Buche on Feb. 4, recognizing her as the first youth honoree of its kind in Chelan County.

The event was held at the club’s facility at 103 Bighorn Way.

Since youth sports programming began in 2024, Buche has participated in every club event, according to organizers. She was recognized for her leadership, character and involvement both within the club and in other community activities.

In addition to her participation at the club, Buche is involved in Girl Scouts, school band and Hope Squad, a peer-based suicide prevention organization. Club officials said she brings leadership skills developed through those activities to the program each day.

As part of the recognition process, Buche was interviewed by a panel of local professionals and represented herself in business attire.

Family members, mentors and community supporters attended the event to celebrate her accomplishments. Organizers said the recognition establishes a model for other youth participants in Chelan County.
