WENATCHEE — Link Transit is inviting the public to review and comment on its draft 2026-2031 Transit Development Plan before the agency's Board of Directors considers adopting the document later this month.
The draft plan outlines Link's priorities for transit service, capital investments, financial planning and long-term strategic direction over the next six years. Written comments will be accepted through Aug. 17, and the board will hold a public hearing at 3 p.m. Aug. 18 in the board room at Columbia Station, 300 S. Columbia St., as well as online via Zoom.
Among the draft plan's priorities are studying expanded rural transportation options, including a community van program, planning a recreation transit pilot targeted for launch in 2027, expanding the agency's rideshare program, improving bus stop accessibility, and developing a long-term park-and-ride management plan.
The plan also projects a 2027 operating budget of about $36 million and identifies planned investments in replacement buses, new rideshare and community vans, charging infrastructure and bus stop improvements.
According to the draft, the agency served more than 1.44 million riders during fiscal year 2025 while meeting or exceeding all of its key performance targets, including service hours, cost per boarding, safety and customer service measures.
Link Transit says public feedback will help inform the board's final deliberations before the plan is adopted. Written comments may be submitted by email to boardclerk@linktransit.com, by mail to the Board Clerk at 300 S. Columbia St., Wenatchee, WA 98801, or through an online comment form.
More information about the draft plan, including the online comment form and Zoom link for the Aug. 18 public hearing, is available at https://linktransit.com/transit-development-plan-tdp-open-for-public-comment/.
