CHELAN — The 2025 Apple Cup Charity Golf Tournament brought together 42 teams for two days of competitive golf and community fundraising July 19–20 at the Chelan Golf Course.

Teams were divided into three handicap-based divisions and competed in a Best Team Ball format on Saturday, followed by a Scramble on Sunday. The Division One title went to the father-son team of Matt Froman and Nick Froman. Cliff House and Stefan Dobratz captured the Division Two championship, while Dave Boyungs and Tom King took top honors in Division Three.

The tournament opened with a putting contest, where only Chelan Men’s Club members Mike Giffen and Ray Wilson sank their putts. Saturday also featured a Horse Race competition in which approximately 25 two-man teams teed off simultaneously. The field narrowed as teams were eliminated hole by hole, culminating in a chip-off on the ninth hole where Bob Tomsett and Bob Matson edged out Mike Berger and Ray Wilson.

Following Sunday’s play, organizers held a raffle and live auction, both of which raised funds for local causes. Proceeds will support the Chelan and Manson high school boys and girls golf teams and provide scholarships for graduating seniors pursuing college or trade school.

The Chelan Men’s Golf Club expressed appreciation to all sponsors, donors, and tournament supporters. The club also acknowledged the Albatross Restaurant for “supplying excellent food and cold beverages during the tournament.”
