Lynne Marie Godwin passed away peacefully with her husband and dear friends by her side, at home overlooking the beautiful Lake Chelan, WA, on Friday, April 4, 2025. She was 74. She was born in Oklahoma City, OK, on August 20, 1950.

Lynne was adopted by Ann and Ernest Wicken at 5 days old and raised in the San Fernando Valley, CA, and Seattle, WA. She and her young son moved to Darrington, WA, in 1976, meeting the love of her life and husband, Kim Godwin. They raised two boys in the small logging town, always participating in the community by supporting the school and sports programs. Lynne was a dedicated federal employee with a distinguished 38-year career, primarily with the US Forest Service.

She was known as an amazing friend, often organizing and hosting many friends and family events. She was always ensuring her, and her sons’ friends and sports teams had good food, plenty of hydration, and tons of encouragement. Lynne’s superpower was facilitating fun: while on vacation, weekend get-aways, at a party, with co-workers, and especially with just her. She loved to laugh! Lynne enjoyed retirement in Chelan but loved to vacation and travel, crossing the country with Kim and friends in their motorhomes stopping at many sights, trying local activities, and frequenting as many watering-hole establishments as possible. Their travels saw many warm, cold, high, and low destinations as she loved the sun, sunsets, beaches, beautiful landscapes, adventuring on the water, and in the snowy forests and mountains.

Lynne is survived and missed by her loving husband, Kim, of 49 years; sons and daughters-in-law: Brett and Elizabeth (Liz) Gaddis and Dallas and Nadia Godwin; grandchildren: Hailey Gaddis, Dylan Gaddis and Evelyn (Evie) Godwin. Lynne will be dearly missed by so many friends and neighbors who she had a special way of treating like family.
