Born in Chelan, Washington, on September 26, 1949, Paul passed away peacefully June 4, 2026, in Shelton, Washington, at age 76, with his beloved wife, Diane, by his side.
Paul spent a lifetime serving his country and community. He proudly served 20 years in the U.S. Army and U.S. Coast Guard, retiring in 1991 after a distinguished military career as a Finance Specialist and Recruiter/Retention NCO. He later continued his life of public service through a 28-year career with the United States Postal Service.
Known as Paul to many and Mike to family and close friends, he often joked that he was “born under a rock in Chelan,” a reflection of the quick wit and sense of humor that remained with him throughout his life.
He enjoyed country music, Harley-Davidson motorcycles, time on his tractor, and caring for his beloved Italian Greyhounds. Most of all, he cherished his family, friendships, and the simple pleasures of life.
He is survived by his wife, Diane; daughter, Mandy Bailey; stepdaughter, Cheryl Celaya; granddaughter, Chloe Zimmer; sister, Sharon Liebert; brothers, Kenneth Bailey and Thomas Bailey; and many extended family members and friends.
A graveside service with military honors will be held July 10, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Sunset Lane Memorial Park in Port Orchard, Washington.
