CHELAN – Thursday, September 14 was our 52nd annual Ladies Invitational tournament. Our Harvest Invitational is the largest fundraiser for our club’s scholarship fund which provides 4 scholarships a year for Chelan and Manson women athletes moving on to higher education. The competition results:

Flight 1: First Low Gross: Katie O’Neal, Second Low Gross: Stacy Bjarnason, Third Low Gross: Cindi Smith. First Low Net: April Talley, Second Low Net: Diane Holmes, Third Low Net: Teresa Bitseff.

Flight 2: First Low Gross: Barb Rayburn, Second Low Gross: Linda Reister, Third Low Gross: Joan Carlson. First Low Net: Katie Bratrude. Second Low Net: Beth Dobbs, Third Low Net: Linda Hahn.

Flight 3: First Low Gross: Shari Swearingen, Second Low Gross: Paula Weedman, Third Low Gross: Diane Montgomery. First Low Net: Susie Clausen, Second Low Net: Judy Johanson, Third Low Net: Karen Erickson.

Low Gross of the field: Daneile Litterell. Low Net of the Field: Sherry Fisk.

Longest drive: Flight 1: Caryn Frey, Flight 2: Joan Carlson, Flight 3: Roxanne Emerson. 

Best ball foursomes: Flight 1: April Talley, Joy Brown, Diane Holmes and Leslie Savisky. Flight 2: Cheri Hoiland, Bonnie Fortner, Beth Dobbs and Linda Reister. Flight 3: Nobi Morris, Judy Johanson, Paula Weedman and Loa Servis.

Numerous players won closest to the hole money but Teresa Bitseff from Bear Mountain and Desert Canyon notably landed her drive 2’,10 1/2” from the hole!

A fun Horse Race competition was held after the tournament. The winning team was Katie O’Neal and Nancy Parker. Second Place winners were Stacy Bjarnason and Marie Gooch.

The Chelan Team played Leavenworth in Ellensburg this week. Team this week was April Talley, Cindi Smith, Barb Rayburn, Elona Teague, Linda Hahn and Jacklyn Star-Evans. The Chelan Team won their match with Linda Hahn and Jacklyn Star-Evans winning the most points and honey-pot money.

Next week’s competition (Sept. 28) is Medal Play: low net by division and low gross and net of the field. Please note our tee time changes to 9 a.m.. Please sign in by 8:30 p.m.

This week (Sept. 7) was our Monthly Medal competition (low gross and net by division and fewest putts). Eighteen women were in attendance.

Division 1: Low Gross: First Place: April Talley, 89. Second Place:  Linda Reister, 98.

Low Net: First Place: Barb Rayburn, 78. Second Place was a tie between Linda Hahn and Elona Teague, 84.

Fewest Putts was a tie between Barb Rayburn and April Talley, 32.

Division 2: Low Gross: First Place: Nancy Judson, 103.

Low Net: Roxanne Emerson, 83.

Fewest Putts was a tie between Nancy Judson and Roxanne Emerson, 32.

Division 3: Low Gross: First Place was a tie between Sherry Fisk and Nancy Parker, 110. Third Place: Bernie Rayner, 114.            

Low Net: First Place: Carla Bailey, 77. Second Place: Judy Johanson, 79. Third Place: Joni Dedo, 80.

Fewest Putts: Nancy Parker, 32.

Birdies were made by April Talley hole 5, Bernie Rayner hole 18. It was a big chip-in day with 7 chip-Ins! Barb Rayburn hole 8, Linda Reister hole 17, Jaclyn Starr-Evans hole 15, Joni Dedo hole 10, Judy Johanson hole 17, Bernie Rayner hole 18, and Jane Storms hole 18.
