WENATCHEE – The Wenatchee Wild, members of the Western Hockey League (WHL), are pleased to announce that 2008-born forward Nathaniel Danielson has signed a Scholarship and Development Agreement with the organization. A native of Surrey, British Columbia, Danielson is currently in his third season as a forward in the Canadian Sport School Hockey League and has suited up this season for the Delta Hockey Academy under-17 team.
“We are excited to have Nathaniel officially join the Wild,” said Wenatchee Wild director of scouting Leigh Mendelson. “He is an intelligent player who can play in all situations due to his hockey sense, physical abilities, and desire. Fans will immediately gravitate to his competitiveness and work ethic as they watch him develop with us.”
Danielson was selected in the sixth round of last year’s WHL Prospects Draft with the 132nd overall pick, and has been a consistent producer for Delta’s offense during his three years in the program. He posted 36 points for the school’s U15 varsity program during the 2021-22 season, followed by a 40-point season last year for the Delta U15 prep team. This season, he has continued to add to his total with 19 goals and 27 assists in CSSHL play, notching 46 points in just 25 appearances with the Delta U17 Green squad.
He says he prides himself on his passing and ability to see the game while away from the puck, but adds that he’ll look forward to working with the coaching staff on improving his shot.
“I need to get stronger to make my shot better,” said Danielson. “I want people to see that I’m a two-way player who can play in all situations, and that I’m very versatile.”
