Washington State University Extension, Tree Fruit Team
NCW - You are invited to join an impromptu zoom meeting today, April 12 at 4:00 pm for an open discussion about the effects of recent weather on tree fruit hardiness, fruit set and pollination, etc. This is being organized to address the many concerns and questions that this weather has raised:
What effects will this recent weather have on fruit set and crop load management programs?
What is the current hardiness levels of sweet cherry and how can I assess damage?
Are the flowers that opened three days ago still viable?
I haven’t had bee activity in days – how will this impact fruit set?
This meeting is open to all.
Our intention is that this meeting will provide a venue for open discussion of the key concerns, and to better understand what can be done to mitigate potential damage.
