As of Today, Wed., March 11- we know that the VFW Auxiliary Meeting scheduled for this Friday, March 13 has been cancelled AND that the Chelan Senior Center is closing for 2 weeks, starting today March 11 - we will have a separate story on that.

Also cancelled is the Alzheimer’s Caregiver Support Group, which was scheduled to meet on March 25

Healing Prayers
CHELAN - Healing Prayers is a safe, non judgmental, hope filled ministry lead by compassionate believers from multi-denominational churches with in the Chelan Valley and is endorsed by many area churches. Healing Prayers operates in the power of God’s Holy Word to seek and to save the lost and to restore the broken hearted. They trust in God’s precepts and commandments and the promises HE gives to his children; including promises to non believers who are searching for answers in their lives. The invitation is for all who are seeking prayer, healing, direction,  and restoration. Our prayers are for Gods Divine Healing, physically, emotionally and spiritually.  Delivering The Word of Hope, Encouragement, Instruction and Redemption. Location:  213 Sanders St. Chelan. Located on the Campus of the Nazarene Church and is across the street from the Fire Station. Dates: Every second and fourth Thursday of Every Month. Time: 6-8 p.m. Everyone is welcome.
Rehearsal for Lake Chelan Community Choir for Good Friday services

MANSON -  The Lake Chelan Community Choir will be rehearsing for Good Friday Services (April 20) on Sunday, March 15 starting at 1 p.m. running until 3 p.m. at the latest, at North Shore Bible Church.  Early dismissal is common.  This is the 2nd of 5 rehearsals. Music will be provided.  If you’ve not sung with the community choir before, but have been “thinking about it”,  consider yourself invited.  For additional information, call director Marci Hale art 687-3791.

Rotaract meetings
CHELAN/MANSON  - Rotaract meets the first and third Mondays of each month at 6 p.m. at Stormy Mountain Brewing in Chelan, and on the second and fourth Thursdays of each month at MVP Vintners in Manson. “My Girlfriend’s Closet” fundraiser  
WENATCHEE -The Women’s Service League of NCW (WSL) is holding its premier fundraising event, “My Girlfriend’s Closet” (MGC), on March 13, 14, and 15, located in former location of Hastings at 315 9th Street in Wenatchee across from Confluence Health. The MGC Preview Party will be held on Thursday, March 12, from 5:30-8 p.m. There are limited tickets still available at the UPS Stores for $40 – cash or check -for this event that gives women an all access pass to exclusive shopping for new and gently used, quality women’s clothing, shoes, handbags and jewelry. Wine from Horan Estates Winery and hors d’oeuvres from Ravenous Catering will be served. There will also be a silent auction featuring select designer name brand items.  MGC is open to the public for shopping on Friday, March 13 from 9 a.m. – 7 p.m. Saturday, March 14 from 9 a.m. – 7 pm, and Sunday, March 15 from 1– 3 pm.  There is no charge for admission.  New items hit the racks daily.

Free Tax Preparation
CHELAN - Chelan-Doulgas Community Action Council in partnership with AARP are sponsoring free Tax Preparation on Saturdays, 9 a.m.-12 p.m. at the Chelan Senior Center, 534 E. Trow Avenue. The Compassionate Friends to meet
WENATCHEE - The Compassionate Friends is an organization offering friendship, understanding and hope to bereaved parents and their families. They are bereaved parents reaching out to bereaved parents. Anyone who has had a child or loved one die in their family is invited to their monthly meeting on the third Monday of the month, 7-8:30 p.m., at Grace Lutheran Church, 1408 Washington Street in Wenatchee. Death Cafe
CHELAN - On the third Wednesday of each month they  meet at the Chelan Senior Center from 9-10:30 a.m. to talk about what everyone can do legally, emotionally, religiously, financially to prepare for our passing. This is free and open to the public. You do not have to be a member of the Senior Center to attend. Each month there will be a different subject explored. Employment assistance
CHELAN - North Central Regional Library (NCRL) and Workforce Development have extended and expanded their partnership to offer monthly employment assistance at the Chelan Public Library. People can come to the library from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the second Monday of every month for one-on-one assistance with employment, education, training, and meeting basic needs. The next session will be March 9. Walk-ins are welcome and assistance is available in English and Spanish. The partnership began last fall with NCRL, WorkSource, SkillSource, Wenatchee Valley College, and OIC of Washington. It has now expanded to also include Chelan Douglas Community Action Council, Link Transit, and Chelan Valley Hope.
