Story time at library

CHELAN - Story time is every Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Chelan Public Library located on Emerson Street. Join them for singing, dancing, clapping, music making as well as reading. It’s both fun and educational!

Story time at library

MANSON - Every Wednesday at 11 a.m. the Manson Community Library offers a story time for children ages 2 to 5 and their caregivers.  Join the group for a half hour of stories, rhymes, songs, finger plays and other activities.  For more information call the library at 687-3420.

After school activity at library

MANSON - “The Page Turners” is the name for the group of kids that gather at the Manson Community library to listen to stories after school.  They will meet every Wednesday at 3:45 p.m.  The group will have an after school snack, listen to a short story and one chapter of a continuing chapter book and make a craft.  This group is most appropriate for ages 6 to 10 but all children are welcome.  For more information call the library at 687-3420.

Registration open for baseball, 

softball and Tee-ball

CHELAN - The city of Chelan is holding baseball, softball, and Tee-ball registrations for those in grades Kindergarten through sixth. The cost is $25 for grades K-2, and $35 for grades 3-6th. There is an additional cost of $17 for those that don’t have an AAU card.  Sign ups will be held until March 15.  There will be a coaches meeting on March 20 at the Don Morse Park office. Celebrate Recovery

CHELAN - Lake Chelan Celebrate Recovery Meets every Thursday at Living Stone Church, (formerly Little Stone Church), 2133 W. Woodin Avenue. Dinner is at 6 p.m., cost is $3. Group meeting at 6:30 p.m., followed by gender-specific small groups. Celebrate Recovery is a confidential, Biblically-based twelve step program for anyone struggling with addiction, co-dependency, gambling, relationships and other life issues.

Saint Patrick’s Day Lunch

MANSON - Manson Grange is serving a traditional St. Patrick’s Day lunch  on Friday, March 17, 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m., at the Grange Hall.  They will be serving corned beef and cabbage, roasted potatoes, soda bread, glazed carrots, Leprechaun’s dessert, coffee, tea and juice. Baby rhymin’ time

CHELAN - Baby rhymin’ time is every Friday at 10 a.m., at the Chelan Pubic Library on Emerson Street, for ages 0-3 years. Join them for singing, dancing, nursery rhymes, musical instruments, and story telling for babies, waddlers and toddlers. 

Community ‘Soup’ Kitchen

CHELAN - The Lake Chelan United Methodist Church Community ‘Soup’ Kitchen is open every Friday, noon to 1:30 p.m. The church is located at the corner of Johnson and Emerson, and is on a bus route.

Kite Festival

ENTIAT - The Seventh Annual Entiat Kite Festival, “The Rites of String,” will be held at the Kiwanis Park in Entiat, Washington along Highway 97A on Saturday, March 18, 2017 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. This year’s event is expected to be even bigger, with 200 free kites for kids. Organizers plan to have entertainment, live music, vendors for food and kite-related paraphernalia, as well as a stunt kite fliers on hand to demonstrate their skills. Community Choir rehearsals - Good Friday

MANSON - Sunday, March 19, 1-3 p.m., second of five rehearsals for Good Friday Services at North Shore Bible Church. Rehearsals will be at North Shore Bible Church.  Music will be provided for choir members.  If you’ve not sung with the community choir before, but have been “thinking about it’’,  dust off your rusty vocal chords and come sing. CHELAN - Al-Anon meets every Tuesday, 12 p.m. in the Apple Cup Cafe Banquet Room. This is an open meeting.

Cancer Support Groups

CHELAN - Second Meeting Added: The Women’s Wellness Group, cancer support group, now has 2 support groups, the second Tuesday of each month for lunch, with lunch provided by the Wenatchee Wellness Place, at the Lake Chelan Community Hospital Board Room at 11:45 a.m. and the fourth Wednesday of each month at LaBrisa at 5 p.m.  For more information, contact Anne at 682-8718.

Lake Chelan Watershed Planning meeting

CHELAN - Meetings for the Lake Chelan Watershed Planning Unit are moving to a quarterly basis in 2017. The Planning Unit’s next meeting will be held on March 22, at 1 p.m. at the Chelan Fire Hall. For more information call 509-667-6467.

Methodist men’s group

CHELAN - The Lake Chelan United Methodist Men’s group meets the 2nd and 4th Thursdays, at The Vogue, at 7 a.m.. All men who have a belief in Jesus Christ are welcome to attend.

Fire department open house

DATE/TIME CHANGED - CHELAN - The Chelan Fire Department will hold an open house at Station 71, 232 Wapato, on April 15, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Lunch will be served, along with activities: Check out the various fire apparatus and parade truck, Chelan EMS information, Life Flight based at the Brewster Airport, Rivercom 911, children’s activities.
