Community invited to get involved in Historic Downtown Chelan Association

Volunteers needed in four different areas

Posted

CHELAN -- The HDCA has been working on various  projects in 2019, and has many volunteer opportunities available. Community members can get involved in events, fundraising, marketing, design, and so much more. Approximately 4-6  hours per week is needed for a specific project (not all year round). Below is a list of all the ways someone can get involved in the Historic Downtown Chelan Association.

1. Event Planning. We need volunteers to help with planning and executing each event.
• Spring Park Launch/Downtown CleanUp/Fundraising (April or May)
• Music in the Park Concerts in Riverwalk Park (Memorial Day - Labor Day)
• Homecoming Downtown (October)
• Harvest Moon Dinner (October)
• Halloween Trick-or-Treating (October)
• Dia de los Muertos (November 2)
• Small Town Christmas (Nov.-Dec.)
• Lake Chelan Festival of Trees Fundraiser (December)

2. Design.
• Work on a refreshed mural program throughout downtown.
• Work on a “Welcome to Historic Downtown Chelan brochure (specifically writing  skill and gathering information)
• Coordinate the annual décor for downtown (flower baskets, corn stalks, etc.)

3. Merchant Socials/Annual Dinner
• Working with Tsillan Cellars on menu, coordinating RSVPs, etc.

4. Volunteer Recruitment
• Work with committee chairs to help create volunteer job descriptions so we can  pull in more volunteers to help.
• Organize the volunteer appreciation party (determine dates, invitations, etc.)

If you’re interested in participating in any one of these areas, please contact Erin McCardle, Executive Director,  (509) 682-4322, hdca@nwi.net
