CHELAN - Chelan had nine players score and played ten players in the first half as they built a 42-19 lead.
The Goats improved to 2-1 in CTL play and 3-3 overall.
It was great to see the team rooting for each other and working together. This group of boys really enjoys playing basketball and their desire to reach their potential is evident in how receptive they are to being challenged.
They played a non-league game with the #1 ranked 2B team in the state Okanogan on Saturday, December 18.

CHELAN - Tonight (Deccember 14) the Chelan Goats hosted the Cascade Kodiaks in what was the Goats 3rd CTL game of the season. The game plan for the Goats was for the intensity to be high and the game to be crisp. Unfortunately this was not the type of game the Goats intended to play. The Goats came out extremely flat and absent of energy. The game was tied at 2 about 5 minutes into the game before the Goats had a short burst of offense ending with an 8-2 lead.
The Goats didn’t come out much stronger in the second quarter but managed to put up 14 additional points before going into the locker room.
At halftime the coaching staff emphasized taking advantage of opportunities out of a Kodiak steal or turnover and maintaining possession of the ball. The Goats had forced the Kodiaks to turnover the ball 15 times in the first half but gave up 10 themselves.
“We will have a tough time winning basketball games down the stretch if we don’t get this fixed,” stated Coach Nick Longmire.
The Goats came out of the locker room and continued to build on their offense scoring 17 additional points but also gave up 9. In the 4th quarter Chelan held Cascade to just 4 points and adding 12 to their final count ending in a Goat victory 51-23.
All scores were led by Kira Sandoval with 20, Aliyah Finch added 14, Joslynn Simmons with 9, Arabelle Finch contributed 4 and Morgyn Harrison and Beau Nordby had 2 each.
This puts the Goats 5-1 overall and 2-1 in league.
The Goats  faced Okanogan this Saturday, December 18 in a non-league road game.
