OKANOGAN - The Caribou Trail League held its Championship match today at the Okanogan Valley Golf Course, with host Omak taking team championships in both the girls and boys team competitions.
The Chelan boys overall had some good holes but also struggled on some, and finished in second place, 20 strokes behind Omak, with a 392 to Omak’s 372.  Chelan only had three girls playing and was not able to post a team score.
However, Chelan was able to take medalist honors on both the boys and girls sides, with Arabelle Finch (11th grade) shooting a 98, winning by two strokes, and named CTL Player of the Year, and Carson Clinton (9th grade) shooting a 2-over par 74, winning by nine strokes, and also named Player of the Year.  Both qualified for the state competition, along with teammate Kira Sandoval (12th grade) who came in with a 106 and 5th place finish for the girls.
The top five finishers for both the girls and boys qualified for state competition, which will be next week Monday-Wednesday, May 22-24 in Chehalis at Riverside Golf Course.
